Colonel Gerry Mann was a member of 32 Canadian Brigade Group, the Army in the GTA, since 1995. He was the Brigade Commander from 2006-2009. On March 10, 2010 Colonel Mann passed away. Those who served under him and worked with him in 32 CBG will always remember him as a dynamic leader who cared about his troops. His photo resides in the halls of 32 CBG as a past commander. RIP

I had the pleasure to work with Gerry in my capacity as Canadian contigent commander UN CIVPOL in Kosovo. His principaled leadership became obvious very quickly and he consented to be the assistant contigent commander. I relied on his judgement and thoughtful council. We have lost a real gentleman. The world is has lost a true leader and I have lost a true friend.

I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for sharing this.
Would be really interesting to see your traffic spike if you had any stats enabled
Thank you for posting this. I also read the re-posted article “The Mann Behind the Bars” and was very touched. I’m Colonel Mann’s daughter and unfortunately hadn’t had the opportunity to read the article before. It proves to me, once again, that he considered his military and police colleagues his family. He shared pieces of himself that were rarely shared with others in that article. I see the comments here that he was very special to many of you and I know that he felt the same way.
Thanks again for being his family away from home.
Sincerely, Tina Mann
