MISSISSAUGA – Corporal Viktor “Vik” Suagh of The Lorne Scots (Peel Dufferin and Halton Regiment) and his sister, Constable Tia Suagh of Peel Regional Police stand guard at Pearson International Airport during the arrival of international leaders for the G8-G20 Summits. “We have very different jobs but they’re parallel” says Constable Suagh about working with the military. “There’s definitely a mutual respect level, and I’m really proud to serve alongside my brother” says the seven year veteran officer. Her brother Vik, a student at University of Toronto who joined the reserves four years ago, is equally proud. “I’ve always looked up to Tia and this is a rare opportunity to work alongside Peel Police. I feel lucky to be here” he says. The brother and sister from Brampton are part of the RCMP-led Integrated Security Unit, a joint partnership of the Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police Services, Peel Regional Police and the Canadian Forces.
